At Barre Fitness, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer experiences for every client that walks through our doors. To ensure you get the most out of your Barre Fitness experience, please be aware of some important studio policies:
what do you do in a barre fitness class?
Every Barre Fitness class is fun and empowering class set to today’s hottest music. Classes begin with a warm up focusing on postural strength and alignment, followed by a series of upper body exercises using light and heavy weights. The ballet barre is used to work the lower body, and for flexibility training. Then it is down to the mat with a fitball for core work and a relaxing and invigorating final stretch.
what to wear?
Please wear comfortable, breathable workout wear. We suggest tight fitting clothing so that the instructor can easily see form and alignment. The workout is done in grip socks (socks that have grips on the sole), and these are required in the studio. Please feel free to bring your own or purchase a cool pair in our Barre Boutique.
what to bring?
At Barre Fitness everything you need for a great workout is provided! We provide the mats and all the equipment, and we have a towel service at no extra charge. Please bring your own re-fillable water bottle and take advantage of our purified water bottle filling station. *Grip socks are required in class, and can be purchased in our Barre Boutique.
who can participate?
Barre Fitness has been designed for anyone ages 15+ and will benefit clients of every fitness level! The roots of the program were developed to rehabilitate the body. Many of the stretches and strengthening exercises have been suggested by sports medicine physicians and orthopedists.
First Time Clients: Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class, to provide ample time to fill out a client waiver, take a tour and meet your instructor.
Injured Clients: It is recommended that clients with injuries consult with their doctors before beginning any new exercise method. Also, please speak with your Barre Fitness instructor about your injury before class begins.
ALL Prenatal Clients must review and complete a Get Active Questionnaire for Pregnancy form to be presented to Barre Fitness before they may take class. ALL Postnatal Clients should have their 6 week postnatal check up before starting/resuming classes.
what to expect for your first class + class types
Barre Classic or Barre Fitness are best suited for newcomers, especially those without prior Barre-workout experience. For more details on our different class formats click here.
As classes can fill quickly, reservations are highly recommended.
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class starts to fill out your client medical waiver and get a tour of the studio. Grip socks are required in class; please bring a pair or you can purchase a cool pair in our Barre Boutique. ***Latecomers will not be permitted into class once class begins due to safety reasons.
Be sure that your body is prepared for your first workout, come hydrated and fuelled by having a light snack before class to sustain energy for all of the push-ups, pliés, pulses and fun!
class reservation policies
Class reservations open 7 days prior and close 15 minutes before class starts. It is highly recommended to book ahead by using our online reservation system as we may not be able to reach your request via email or phone in time.
ALL Reservations will be held up to 5 minutes prior to the class start time. 5 minutes prior to the start of each class, all open spaces will be given to clients on the waitlist or on standby for that class.
If you are running late or are unable to attend class, please contact your studio to avoid unnecessary charges or losing your spot.
class cancellation policies
We require a minimum 12 hours notice for the cancellation of a single class. Missed classes without the appropriate notice are subject to a No Show/Late Cancel fee for clients on unlimited memberships or packages.
1. Cancel 12 hours before your scheduled class: No fee
2. Cancel less than 12 before your scheduled class: $15 Late Cancel Fee
3. Don’t cancel and don’t show up: $20 No Show Fee
We understand that life happens! In the case of an emergency, please call the studio and we’ll happily remove you from the class list and will be grateful for your call.
waitlist policy
If a desired class is full, we offer a waitlist option for up to 10 clients at a time. Clients who make it into the class from the waitlist will receive an automated email to notify them that they’ve made it into the class. This email will send up to 30 minutes prior to the start of class. Please ensure that you’ve added our emails to your safe list to avoid notifications ending up in your spam folder.
Please note that if you are on the waitlist you are considered in the class and the Late Cancel policy and fees will apply. If you can no longer make the class, please remove yourself from the waitlist 12+ hours before the class start time.
The option to cancel your spot on the waitlist can be found in your account via Reservations >> View Reservation >> Cancel Reservation
refund policy
All payments must be received prior to the start of class and no refunds will be given for amounts paid for classes. Memberships and class packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• 2 Week Unlimited New Client Intro Offer is valid for 14 days from the date of first use, and activates upon check-in into your class.
• 10 Barre Class Cards are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
• Barre BFF Memberships require 30 days written notice for cancellation.
Membership Policies
Pricing: All monthly Barre Memberships are charged monthly plus 5% GST.
Billing and Payment Options: Payments are made via automatic debit from a Visa, Mastercard or Amex and all 3, 6, and 12 month (pay monthly) memberships will continue to auto-renew on a ongoing monthly basis, indefinitely, until 30 day written cancellation notice is given.
Refund Policy: All payments must be received prior to the start of class and there will be no refunds for amounts paid for classes.
Membership Cancellation: A $75 per month(s) remaining on your membership commitment, early termination fee will apply. Cancellation requests must be received in writing 30 days prior to the auto-renewal date by emailing southsurrey@barrefitness.com. *Memberships must be active and in good standing to cancel. Suspended memberships cannot be cancelled until they are reactivated.
Membership Holds: We offer ONE FREE, 1 month hold per contract term for our 6 month members, and TWO FREE, 1 month holds per contract term for our 12 month members. This can be applied as a 1 month hold or broken up into 2+ week holds. These members can request one additional 1 month hold for a $30 fee. Medical holds will be considered on a case by case basis and require a written note from your doctor. All hold requests require 15 days notice in writing to southsurrey@barrefitness.com and cannot be applied retroactively.
No Show/Late Cancel Policy: We provide a 12 hour early-cancellation window for our classes. After this window, Barre Memberships are subject to a $15 Late Cancel Fee and No Shows are subject to a $20 No Show Fee.
Pay Monthly Memberships will Automatically Renew after their Membership Commitment Term: All 3, 6, and 12 month (pay monthly) Memberships will continue to auto-renew, indefinitely, until written cancellation notice is given. Please email southsurrey@barrefitness.com with 30 days written notice if you would like to cancel your membership upon completion of your current membership commitment term.
Barre BFF Guest Passes: 2 Guests passes per month are allotted to our 3, 6, or 12 month Barre BFF Members. These guest passes can be used for NEW, local guests for their FIRST CLASS for FREE at the studio.
Waitlisted Classes: Add yourself to our waitlist! Please make sure to keep an eye on your inbox/app to see if you make it into class off the waitlist, as you might be notified up to 30 minutes before the class start time. Late Cancel and No Show fees still apply if you make it into class off the waitlist. If you can no longer make it to class please remove yourself from the waitlist.
